Stories that embody the spirit of Krea – tales of aspirations, milestones, passion and perseverance
As a young but established institution that has made a distinct mark on the Indian higher education landscape, Krea University is on the path to re-imagining learning for the 21st century. We are steered by some of the best minds in academia and industry, research powerhouses and young learners, at the intersections of arts, sciences, business, and social development. Krea’s agile and inventive academic and research ecosystem brings together diverse disciplines, global perspectives, and transformative opportunities.
The 40-acre green and sustainable campus in Sri City, is what we call home. Located 70 km from Chennai, the campus hosts state-of-the art infrastructure, tech enabled classrooms, cutting edge labs, expansive cafeteria, diverse sports facilities, a world class library, green spaces, medical centre, convenience store and much more.
Krea University currently offers multiple study programmes across arts, humanities, sciences and management, housed under the School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences (SIAS) and IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB).
The full-time residential undergraduate programmes include 3-year BA and BSc, 4-year BA and BSc (Honours) offered by SIAS, Krea Macquarie 2+2 Dual Degree, and the 3-year BBA, 4-year BBA (Honours), and 5-year Integrated MBA programmes offered by IFMR GSB.
IFMR GSB offers diverse PhD programmes in full-time and part-time formats, while at SIAS scholars may pursue the full-time format or the part-time / Faculty Improvement Programme (FIP).
Krea offers Executive Education programmes in both online and hybrid formats led by world-class research-driven faculty supported by cutting-edge design and pedagogy.
The Krea Summer School offers week-long programmes for high-school students to explore a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, with a view of how an undergraduate life looks like.
At Krea, our thoughtfully crafted pedagogy goes beyond the interdisciplinary and embraces the interwoven. This holistic approach called Interwoven Learning, rests on eight guiding principles that shape every student’s journey, ensuring every graduate is multi-dimensional, ready for the complexity and opportunities of tomorrow.
Rooted in research, data analysis, writing intensiveness, ethics, historicity, immersive learning and the addressing of unanswered queries, Interwoven Learning integrates thought with action, arts with sciences, and connects our past learnings with our readiness for the future.
In a world shaped by the evolving balance between humans, machines, and the environment, Interwoven Learning is not merely a destination but a continuous journey, necessitating constant innovation. Embracing uncertainty is deeply ingrained in the ethos of Interwoven Learning.
