Krishna Kumar Balaraman works Strategy Management and Public Policy area. Krishna earned his Ph.D. from IIT Madras, focusing on strategic foresight and alliances. He also holds an MBA (PGSEM) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from the National Law School of India University, and is a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Madras. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Balaraman has over two decades of international leadership experience in developing products and solutions in advanced technologies.

His research and teaching interests encompass strategic and technology foresight, Institutions, microfoundations of strategic capabilities, AI strategies, governance, public policy, international business, entrepreneurship, behavioral strategy, and Indian Knowledge System. He regularly presents papers in international conferences such as Strategic Management Society (SMS) and Academy of International Business (AIB) conferences. He is an invited speaker and trainer at various institutions such as IIM Bangalore, NCGG, CDTI, OPSA, RIS, CSIR-NIScPR, IIM Shillong etc. He also publishes thought pieces in the popular press. He has been in Editorial Review Board of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

He is currently Associate Professor at IFMR GSB, Krea University. He has been the head of the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) and the Center for Technology Foresight and policy (CTFP) at IIT Jodhpur. He was an affiliate faculty with IIT Jodhpur’s School of AI and Data Science (SAIDE) and the Center for Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development (CETSD).
